Sara Chalifoux, MD
GASTROENTEROLOGY
Dr. Sara Chalifoux received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, after which she completed her internal medicine residency training at Olive View – UCLA Medical Center. She then went on to complete a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Chalifoux is passionate about providing comprehensive, high quality medical care and treats patients with a wide range of digestive and liver diseases, including: gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, pancreatic and biliary disorders, liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. She also has a particular interest in the application of integrative health approaches towards many common digestive disorders.
Dr. Chalifoux has a strong research background and has authored multiple publications in the field of gastroenterology and has presented her research at both national and international conferences. She is especially interested in the early detection of colorectal cancer, and during her fellowship conducted the first study looking at the outcomes of colorectal cancer screening starting at age 45 in average-risk patients.
