Angela Saunders, DO
GASTROENTEROLOGY
Dr. Saunders was born in rural Louisiana where she attended college at Northwestern State University. In 2008, she left home and moved to Lewisburg, West Virginia where she met her husband, Dr. Phillip Saunders. After graduating from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, the couple relocated to Fort Wort, Texas where she completed her internal medicine residency training after serving as chief resident in 2015. Between residency and fellowship, Dr. Saunders worked as an internist in Texas, New York and Nebraska, specializing in adult medicine and diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
This background has helped form a well-rounded practice for Dr. Saunders who likes to take a holistic approach when treating patients. In 2016, Dr. Saunders returned to Fort Worth to complete her fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology. In particular, she enjoyed working with the liver transplant team at Baylor University and has a particular interest in treating patients with all types of liver disease. She also has interest in women’s health and irritable bowel syndromes. When not working, Dr. Saunders and her husband enjoy spending time with their son and families. They enjoy traveling and are excited to explore their new home in Temecula.
